Apologies for the recent pause in posts. This particular post has been languishing in our drafts folder for awhile, so we figure now is as good a time as any to publish it. Checking out Kate’s balcony appearances a few months ago was fun, so we thought we’d take a look at her royal carriage rides since the wedding day. She’s has had a remarkable number of them so far and they certainly have been varied! Let’s take a look.
1. The Wedding Day April 2011
The first carriage ride of course was from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace on William and Kate’s wedding day. There was much solemn head bowing and celebratory waving for the occasion:
2. Trooping the Colour June 11, 2011
Six weeks after the wedding, Kate rode through the streets of London again as part of the annual Trooping the Colour parade:
She was joined by the Duchess of Cornwall…
and Prince Harry and Prince Andrew. They all were colour co-ordinated:
This video of footage from the day is very informative and starts out with footage of Kate. It also shows the flypast which is soooo impressive:
3. Garter Day June 13 2011
Garter Day, which was held just two days later, also included a carriage ride. Kate shared one with Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince William:
4. Canada Day July 1, 2011
The Duke and Duchesses’ trip to Canada included three carriage rides. One was in Ottawa on Canada Day, naturally surrounded by Mounties. Kate was decked out in her maple leaf hat:
The second carriage ride of the North American tour was in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and took the couple to Province House along with the Premier of the Province and his wife.
More mounties!
Looks like fun was being had…
6. The Calgary Stampede July 2011
It was a different sort of Carriage in Calgary, but we’ll add it in for good measure:
7. Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving June 5, 2012
For the Jubilee Service in June, Kate looked amazing in her peachy pink lace McQueen dress, which we spoke about more here.
A closer look:
8. Garter Day 2012 June 16 2012
Kate repeated her Trooping the Colour 2011 Alexander McQueen ensemble for Garter Day this past summer. Everyone looked quite smashing:
9. Trooping the Colour 2012 June 18 2012
Just two days later, Kate sat next to Camilla on their way to Buckingham Palace during Trooping the Colour this past summer.
William was on horseback so Kate rode without him:

Love you blog!
Lovely post!
I thoroughly enjoyed the Trooping the Colour video from June 2011. 🙂
The best part of this post was Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla at the end. Such good sports and so good to see them happy. Camilla looks like someone’s eccentric, slightly crazy, Flordia Aunt.
